Frequently asked questions

Straightforward answers about getting started, working together, and launching your app.

Getting started

What is Bump AI?

Bump AI is an AI app builder. Describe a web application in plain language, review it in a live preview, and refine it through conversation or code edits. You can publish the app and work independently or in a shared workspace.

Do I need to know how to code?

You can start by describing your idea in plain language. More complex logic, external integrations, and security requirements may benefit from technical review. Start with the quick-start guide.

What kinds of apps can I create?

Examples include websites, portfolios, personal tools, dashboards, customer portals, catalogs, booking experiences, and learning apps. Real payments, shared data, and sign-in need the appropriate services configured. Browse app ideas.

Can people use my app on a phone?

You can build responsive web apps that run in a mobile browser. Ask for mobile-friendly layouts and test them using the preview controls and a phone. Publishing a web app is separate from submitting a native app to an app store.

Individuals and teams

Can I build a multi-user app on Solo?

Solo describes how you work inside Bump AI: one builder. Your app can be designed for multiple end users, with its own authentication, database, and permissions. Choose Team when other people need to build with you in Bump AI.

How many people can join a Team workspace?

Team supports up to five workspace members, including the owner. Members share the workspace’s monthly credits, with roles and per-member credit limits. This is a builder membership limit, not an advertised limit of five visitors to your published app.

Can I give a client access to only one project?

Bump AI has project sharing and collaborator controls as well as workspace membership. Review the project invitation’s scope, role, and plan requirements before inviting a client. See collaboration.

Plans and usage

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Free includes 10 daily credits, a separate 10-credit welcome grant at sign-up, and publishing on a Bump subdomain. BYOK, custom domains, and team workspaces require a paid plan.

What do paid plans cost?

Solo starts at $7/month for 100 monthly credits; Team starts at $20/month for 200 shared monthly credits. The starting tiers advertise eligible first-month offers of $3 and $10 respectively. Check the pricing guide and checkout for the selected allowance and actual offer.

Is BYOK free once I pay my AI provider?

No. Your provider bills model usage directly, while Bump credits cover active runtime. The current rate is about 0.06667 credits per active minute, or up to 25 active hours per 100 credits. See credits and BYOK.

Do unused paid credits expire?

Purchased monthly credits are available for two months from purchase. Billing shows your available credits and expiration details. Daily free credits have a separate daily allowance policy.

Publishing and help

Can I use my own domain?

Solo includes one custom domain and Team includes ten. You need to own the domain, follow the DNS setup shown in the project, and wait for verification. Domain registration is a separate purchase.

Is the app live every time I change the preview?

Use Publish to release the version you want people to see. After editing, review the preview, publish your update, and check the live address.

Where can I get help?

For an app bug, describe the steps and error in the project chat. For account or platform help, use Support while signed in, track requests in My tickets, or use the public contact page.
