Build your first app
Go from a blank prompt to a web app you can preview, improve, and share.
Before you start
Create an account or sign in, then open your dashboard. You can start on Free without a payment method. Bring one clear idea and, optionally, a screenshot or image that explains the design you have in mind.
1. Describe the first version
Pick a small, useful workflow. Tell Bump AI who will use it, what pages it needs, and what each action should do. For a first project, a personal tool is a good way to learn the process.
Build a personal reading tracker. I want a dashboard with books I’m reading, a form to add a book, and filters for To read, Reading, and Finished. Let me update my progress and save it in this browser. Use a warm, minimal design that works on mobile.
2. Choose how to start
Enter your prompt in the dashboard composer. Use the creation options to attach references or organize the project. Choose Build to begin making the app, then select Create App.
If the idea needs more thought, choose Plan first. Discuss the scope and review the proposed work before approving a build. Learn more about Build and Plan.
3. Review the preview
When the build is ready, explore the app in the preview. Try adding a book, updating progress, and using the filters. If something is missing, describe the specific change in the project chat.
Add an empty state when there are no books, with an Add your first book button. Keep the current colors and layout.
4. Test before you share
- 1
Complete the main task
Use the app as a visitor would. Submit a form, follow its result, and check that the saved data is still there after a refresh.
- 2
Check smaller screens
Use the preview device controls and check the app in a mobile browser. Look for readable text and usable navigation.
- 3
Connect real services when needed
A shared app needs shared data. If you add sign-in, payments, or an API, configure and test that connection before launch.
5. Publish your app
Open Publish in the builder. Review the app address and available access settings, then deploy. Open the resulting link in a separate browser window and test it again.
Free supports publishing on a Bump subdomain. Solo and Team also include custom domains. Follow the publishing guide when you’re ready.
